Exchange rate-匯率
An exchange rate is the rate at which one country's currency can be traded in exchange for another country's currency.
Affects price of a country’s exports:
? Exchange rate falls: exports become cheaper to oversea buyers and so more competitive in export market. Imports become more expensive and so less competitive against good produced.
? Exchange rate increase, opposite effect.
A change in the exchange rate will affect the relative prices of domestic and foreign produced goods and services.

| Domestic goods are cheaper in foreign markets so demand for exports increases. | Domestic goods are more expensive in foreign markets so demand for exports falls. |
| Foreign goods are more expensive so demand for imports falls. | Foreign goods are cheaper so demand for imports rises. |
| Imported raw materials are more expensive so costs of production rise. | Imported raw materials are cheaper so costs of production fall. |
Exchange rates are determined by supply and demand, even under fixed exchange rate systems.
