Divisonalisation is the division of a business into autonomous regions or product businesses, each with its own revenues, expenditures and capital asset purchase programs, and therefore each with its own profit and loss responsibility.
Each division of the organization might be:
? A subsidiary company under the holding company.
? A profit center or investment center within a single company.
? A strategic business unit (SBU) within the larger company, with its own objectives.
